Delayed Opening for 10th, 11th, and 12th graders

 

All ninth grade students at RFH will be taking the state-wide Biology test.  Freshman must report to RFH at 7:45 AM on Tuesday May, 15th and Wednesday, May 16th.  All 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students will have a delayed opening.  School will begin at 10:45 for them.

Bus transportation will be provided for “regular” and “delayed” (2 hours after regular bus schedule) AM pick up. Students on the delayed schedule will enter school through the Auditorium entrance (West Parking Lot) and report directly to the Gym. There will be bus transportation for the 2:40 PM dismissal. Note: Senior Release is cancelled for these two testing dates.

Project Child Find

 

The Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School District conducts an advertising campaign regarding CHILD FIND activities, mandated by law. This campaign is designed to alert parents/guardians/family members of the services that are available to disabled/developmentally delayed children, ages 14-21. The child can be experiencing physical, sensory, emotional, communication, cognitive, or social difficulties.  The activities of CHILD FIND extend to children who may be migrant or homeless as well.

Any parent who has concerns about the development of a school age child between the ages of 14-21 years should contact the Rumson-Fair Haven Child Study Team through the Office of Special Services at:

Spring Sports Physicals

 

 Please be advised, Physicals and Health History Updates for students participating in spring sports are due by Friday, February, 17, 2012 to Lori Scisco in the Main Office.  Please be aware that it is the parent/student's responsibility to make sure that all necessary forms are current and received in accordance with the stated deadlines.  If you have a question regarding the status of your student's physical, you may contact Lori Scisco at ext. 200 or at lscisco@rfhrhs.org.

 

  As required by NJ Administrative Code, the School Physician will review the spring sports physicals only on February 27, 2012 at 7:30AM.  As such, physicals for participation in spring sports cannot be accepted after February 24, 2012.  Students will not be permitted to participate in spring sports if the aforementioned deadline is not met.

 

  If your student needs a sports physical and you are not able to schedule an appointment with your private physician by the due date, please contact the School Nurse, Linda Nill, by February 21, 2012 to arrange to have the School Physician conduct a physical for your student in the Health Office on February 27, 2012.

Special Message about Cardiac Deaths Among Athletes

 

As you are aware, the incidence of sudden cardiac death among student athletes as a result of undetected heart conditions has caused great concern throughout New Jersey.  In collaboration with the American Academy of Pediatrics and the New Jersey Chapter of the American Heart Association, the New Jersey Department of Education has prepared an informational brochure regarding sudden cardiac death.  For your reference, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:40-41, this brochure is available at:
